Will O'Rourke, the promising New Zealand fast bowler, will miss the second Test match against Zimbabwe due to a back injury. The announcement was made by New Zealand Cricket on Tuesday, forcing a change in the squad composition.
Left-arm pacer Ben Lister, who is yet to make his Test debut, has been called up as a replacement for O'Rourke. Lister will provide cover for the remainder of the two-match Test series.
O'Rourke's Injury
O'Rourke participated in the first Test between New Zealand and Zimbabwe. However, he experienced back stiffness on the third day of the match, which was held at the Queens Cricket Club in Bulawayo the previous week. In that match, he bowled a total of 23 overs and managed to take three wickets.
New Zealand's Dominance
New Zealand secured a dominant nine-wicket victory in the first Test. They are now aiming for a clean sweep of the series with another win in the second Test, scheduled to commence on August 7.
