Brook revealed that the intensity began when Jasprit Bumrah bowled a fiery over at Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. This prompted the England team to reassess their approach and respond in kind.

The match culminated in a thrilling finish on the fifth day, with England successfully defending a target of 193. Brook shared that he has received numerous compliments on the Test, noting the palpable energy on the field. "Everybody said it was awesome to watch and it looked like there was 11 versus two out there when we were fielding," he said, highlighting the team's collective effort.

Verbal Warfare Added Pressure

When questioned about whether the verbal exchanges contributed to India's downfall, Brook responded affirmatively. He believes that it added pressure on the opposition, especially while chasing a low score on a challenging pitch. He stated, "It might have given them that little bit of added pressure. Thankfully, they ended up crumbling and we won the game."

A Series to Remember

Brook emphasized the captivating nature of the series, with each game going down to the wire. He relayed the positive feedback he's received, stating, "Everybody said that the Lords game was one of the best games that they've watched. It's been an amazing series and I'm looking forward to the rest of it."

Dawson's Inclusion

Brook also lauded Liam Dawson, who joined the squad following Shoaib Bashir's injury. He described Dawson as a "wily old fox" with extensive experience and valuable skills, both as a bowler and a batter. "He's a good bloke, he's willing to always fight for the team. He's very competitive and it's good to have him here," Brook added.

Root Regains Top Spot

Joe Root has overtaken Brook as the top-ranked Test batter in the ICC rankings. Brook acknowledged Root's exceptional talent and experience, stating, "He's a phenomenal player. I'm not in the same league as him, so I'll happily let him have it. In my opinion, he's the best Test batter of all time."

England's Playing XI for Fourth Test

England has announced their lineup for the fourth Test in Manchester, with Dawson replacing the injured Bashir.

The confirmed playing XI is: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Liam Dawson, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer.
