The much-anticipated schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is on the verge of being released, signaling that the championship, which has faced numerous hurdles, is firmly back on track. According to sources, the official announcement is expected within the next 24 to 48 hours, potentially as early as Saturday, July 26.

Following a recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka, an announcement was expected soon.

The release of the full schedule is anticipated to be rolled out in stages, with an initial portion potentially revealed on Saturday and the remainder on Monday. As previously reported, the tournament is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 28, although these dates are subject to final confirmation. The UAE, specifically Dubai and Abu Dhabi, are the likely host cities.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the designated host for the continental championship, is currently finalizing the schedule. While minor adjustments may occur, the overall timeframe within the second and third weeks of September is expected to remain unchanged.

Following the Dhaka meeting on Thursday, July 24, the BCCI was entrusted with finalizing the arrangements. The Indian board had informed ACC members that certain outstanding matters with commercial partners needed resolution before the tournament could be officially confirmed. The announcement is now anticipated to originate from the BCCI through the official ACC platform.

As previously reported, the Asia Cup will feature eight teams: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman. The tournament will consist of approximately 19 matches, culminating in the final on the last Sunday of September.

India and Pakistan are expected to be placed in the same group. This arrangement raises the possibility of three high-stakes encounters between the two rival teams. The first match would occur in the league stage, followed by a potential second clash in the Super 4 round, and a possible third showdown in the final. In line with the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, the tournament will be held in the Twenty20 format.
