India's batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, has shared his insights on the pitch conditions ahead of the crucial third Test against England at Lord's. As the Indian team prepares to build on their historic victory at Edgbaston, Kotak emphasized the importance of mindset and adaptability for success in London.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Kotak addressed the nature of the Lord’s surface. “Pitch is very green. We will get an idea after they cut the grass tomorrow. Can expect help for bowlers… mindset will be key for the batters,” he stated. The coach's observations suggest that the bowlers might find favorable conditions at Lord's, making mental fortitude crucial for the batsmen.
India's confidence is soaring after their emphatic 336-run victory in the second Test at Birmingham. This win not only marked their first-ever Test victory at Edgbaston but also leveled the five-match series 1-1.
Despite the anticipated green top at Lord's, Kotak expressed confidence in his team's ability to adjust.
“Indian batters are very skilled, without doing anything extra, they are scoring close to four,” he noted, highlighting the team's inherent talent and ability to perform under pressure.
Kotak deflected personal praise for the team's recent batting form, saying, “I would not like to take credit for batters scoring runs, it is them. This wicket will be challenging, but not thinking too much about it.”
Addressing the performance of Shubman Gill, who scored impressively in the previous Test, Kotak lauded his mindset and technical skills. “Nothing has changed because of captaincy. Mindset has been good – wants to spend time, he has the skill to put loose balls away. There have been technical changes which he has done.”
With the series evenly poised, India aims to capitalize on their momentum and deliver another strong performance at Lord’s. The conditions and the opposition will provide a stern test of their determination and skill.
